Disney Parks Blog has just announced more details about Pixar Pier, a new land that will be replacing the current Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure Park. The new permenant land located to the south side of Paradise Bay will open with four new neighborhoods, each themed to a different Disney Pixar story.
The first of four new lands will be inspired by “The Incredibles,” where the newly transformed California Screamin’ attraction will become the Incredicosater. The new attraction will feature new ride vehicles, a re-themed loading and unloading area, and new character moments throughout.
California Screamin’ will permenantly close January 8.
A Toy Story neighborhood will be located where the current Toy Story Mania! attraction currently exists. This new neighborhood of course inspired by “Toy Story.”
Another new neighborhood will be inspired by “Inside Out” and will feature a brand new family-friendly attraction that will open at a later date.
the fourth and final neighborhood will be inspired by many different Pixar stories. This new neighborhood will be located where the current Mickey’s Funwheel attraction exists and will retheme the Pixar Pier side of the gondolas with new Pixar characters. The Paradise Bay side will remain themed with classic Mickey Mouse heads.
In addition to these new neighborhoods, Ariel’s Grotto restaurant and the Cove Bar will be transformed into a new lounge and grill location.
Ariel’s Grotto and the Cove bar will close January 8.
The remaining areas of the land including Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, will become a new land called Paradise Park.
